Happy Pi Day!

Among other things that you may or may not (yet) know about me, I am a math geek.  At this time, I would like to wish you all a very happy Pi Day.  Why?  Because today is 3.14, of course!  (In six years, it will be 3.14.15.  I think I will have to eat pie all day long in celebration.)

If I didn't have plans to go out to dinner tonight, I think I'd make a chicken pie, and some other kind of pie for dessert, probably the peanut butter pie I've made recently, but that my husband has yet to try.  I'm going to have to see if there's any pie on the dessert menu tonight, and save some room.

What's your favorite kind of pie?

Now, for how many similarities we do share......math is NOT one of them!!!!! LOL

My fav pie is blueberry pie. It is so hard to find a really great one. The best I've ever had was on a vacation to Maine.

My favourite pie is egg and bacon pie - Yum. For a sweet pie you cannoy beat damson pie - with lashings of cream of course!

I cannot believe I missed this post somehow. You know I am the country's foremost advocate to get a pie in every home; the world would be a better place if we all had a pie on the counter.

Fruit pies of almost any variety are at the top of my list. I like cream pies if they are made by someone who knows what they are doing (otherwise, they are too sweet and too gooey).

Quiche, the pie that was much-maligned after some idiot declared men should not eat it (Cary Grant ate it in To Catch a Thief and ended up with Grace Kelly, so there), can be wonderul when it's made with really good eggs and fatty cream, and tiny bits of flavorful things. We need to bring quiche back- and get someone like Gerard Butler to endorse it.

Sweet potato is a favorite of mine as you know. Apple too, as long as it, like yours, is judicious in the quantity of cinnamon used. One of these days I am going to make the Shaker lemon pie in the Fanny Farmer cookbook- my parents have a Meyer lemon tree so I have no excuse not to.

That's enough for now.
